Tips for driving a car in Jeju
Driving is probably the best way to explore the beautiful Jeju island! Here are some top tips on how to have an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
Unlike in Singapore, you'll be driving with the left-hand drive in Jeju. So take some time to familiarise yourself and go slow initially.
Make sure that your rented GPS is in English or a language you are comfortable with.
The GPS in Jeju works best when you enter the phone number of your destination, so it is always good to prepare those and have them handy for the day's drive.
Make sure to have mobile data for the best real-time navigation experience. You can get your 4G SIM card or Wifi egg on Klook.
Google Maps does not work in Korea - you will need to download Naver Map or Kakao Map as an alternative navigation app.
Parking is easily available and generally free around Jeju. However, there may be a small fee at certain attractions and popular destinations. So do have some small change available.
